Charity Event 2013

This is a gentle reminder that we are planning to have a fund raising event for the Saraniya Meditation centre in Manchester. We have seen many changes in our Centre during the past decade. There has been regular intensive meditation retreats, Youth Buddhist culture courses, Cultural and Buddhist events, monthly meditations, Wednesday beginners and intermediate meditation sessions, etc. Sayadaw U Pannasami has been the flag bearer for Theraveda Buddhism and had travelled much inside the UK and to spread the message to Brussels, the heartland of Europe. But the best is yet to come, because we are planning to build a spacious meditation hall next to the current building which will be a great addition to the existing complex. Right now we have submitted for the planning permission and awaiting results. Our Dhamma hall at Lower Broughton road, seems a little bit overcrowded during the major events such as Waso, Youth course and during the main intensive retreats. So this is a once in a life time chance to make a difference, for all the yogi families in the North of the UK, for all those who are going down the path of Insight meditation .. to propagate Theraveda Buddhism, and double our efforts to continue this endeavour to provide a great Meditation space to one and all, to all European and Burmese, who are trying their best to purify their mind and body. In other words, a great achievement in times of adversity, in Europe, for Sasana.Even if you cannot come, we would welcome donations towards this building. The last fund raising was a great event and many came to enjoy the food and the music. We would like to say a big thank you to all who came. This coming event will take place on the 22nd September in Manchester at 1 PM . Many traditional Burmese foods (Monhinga, Mont Phet –htoke, Tohu-thoke etc. etc) will be available. And a Karaoke.
